Note From Bruce:
After 40 years as an Air Canada pilot, with over 27,000 hours total time in airliners and general aviation, I have found that pilot proficiency in both hand flying and the use of automation is paramount to flight safety. Good decision making, the ability to establish and reassess priorities, as well as cockpit/crew management are essential skills for all pilots, whether you are completing a trans-Pacific flight to Asia in a heavy jet or beach landing a Cessna 170. Mentoring both my son and daughter to the commercial pilot level has been extraordinarily rewarding since I have been able to share a half century of the ups and downs of my career. I am passionate about helping pilots improve their abilities, to make flying both safer and more enjoyable. Although my aviation journey started with Air Cadets 50 years ago, I still enjoy all aspects of flying now as much as I did then. A pilot license is only a permit to continue learning, and I still take pride in improving my skills as well as sharing this knowledge with any pilot willing to learn and/or improve their abilities. |
